David Harris - An Angel

An Angel stood on a roof
so silent and still
watching what was going on
in the world below.
The Angel was invisible
to the naked eye
and only animals
could sense the presence there.
The angel watched
the passing of vacant lives
and could only help
when it heard someone’s cry.
The Angel, a sentinel
of our waking lives.
