Description
This poem was written by the soldier/Poet Louis Simpson. He was in the 101st. Airborne Division during the invasion of Normandy France. This is a chilling yet eerily beautiful poem about the events that happened on that day. I was inspired to read this poem from actor/soldier Charles Durning who also served on that day.Mr. Durnings distinguished career earned him 3 Silver Stars and 1 Purple Heart medals
