An empty feeling,
Of being forsaken.
I’m not appealing,
My heart seems taken.

Gone! Not there anymore,
But it still thumps.
Slow steady and sore,
In my chest, it slumps.

Every beat does hurt,
Each more than the last.
No girl dared flirt,
Anywhere in my past.

My heart becomes cold,
When I see love.
For I have none to hold,
I’m below you, not above.

What is my heart?
A wound, unhealing.
Shattered from the start,
My heart is reeling.

An icy chill,
Slowly creeps from it,
And will one day fill,
My body to the pit.
