I look at all this art
At the local gallery
I wonder how someone
Could sell a painting
For $2,500
It had just splashes of paint
Here and there
I think the canvas
Probably cost $50.00 tops
And the paint was maybe
$30.00
And then I wondered
How many hours it took
To splash paint on it
And who is to say
That your splashing
Is better than someone else’s?
I look at all this art
At the local gallery
And wonder.
