Coast guards lead mid-sea rescue operation

Mumbai, May 07 (ANI): The Indian Coast Guard conducted the 7th National Search and Rescue workshop and Exercise (SAREX) off the Mumbai Coast. As part of the drill, a mass rescue operation was held after a mock aircraft accident. As many as 10 coast guard ships, Dornier aircraft, three Chetak helicopters, one indigenous advance light helicopter, one Navy ship, one Air Force helicopter, and one vessel of the Shipping Corporation of India participated in the exercise. Observers from Australia, Bangladesh, Japan, Maldives, Mauritius, Myanmar, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, and United Arab Emirates witnessed the exercise.
