Christal Carpenter - Untold

the fire burns my veins
in a fugal attempt to cure my cold heart

through my eyes flows acid rain
burning through my eyelashes
drip dropping onto my paper
ruining the ink
twisting the words
showing my true thoughts

with every thump of my heart
I can feel the fire flow
lub dub
lub dub
slowly filling my body
burning me inside out

flowing through my capillaries
tearing through muscle
through cartilage

and as I struggle
to control the scream
building inside me

you look at me
and smile
for I smiled first
painfully twitching
my decaying ashy muscles
into a half mooned face

all so you will never
truly know
the inside of me
why I hate me
