I wish that everything could go back
to the way it all was before.
Before you shattered all my dreams
and heaved my heart to the floor.

I had envisioned us happily together
every night and every day.
But now that you have left me alone,
my visions have faded away.

When your touch or simply your smile
sent me knocking on Heaven's door.

You were my savior, my prince,
my beacon in the black night.
Whenever darkness engulfed me,
you were there to turn on the light.

When I knew your love would return to me
like waves lapping gently at the shore.

Even though it hurts to let you go,
I suppose it's all for the best.
But even if I accept this fact,
there's still that emptiness within my chest.

I wish that everything could go back

And although you may never be mine again,
I'll love you forever more.
