Chocolate truffle Cake

Description
INGREDIENTS
CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE/GANACHE and FILLING
1. Whipped cream- 1 cup/200 ml
2. Dark chocolate- 150g
CAKE
1. Chocolate sponge cake
METHOD
PREPARATION OF CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE/GANACHE and FILLING
1. In a bowl take whipping cream and heat it on a low flame with constant stirring.
2. Once the bubbling started turn off the heat and add dark chocolate pieces.
3. Stir the mixture until all the chocolate pieces dissolve and a nice chocolate-colored truffle/ganache forms.
4. Refrigerate the prepared truffle for 10-15 min
ASSEMBLING OF THE CAKE
1. Meanwhile place the cake on a turntable and remove the sides of it.
2. Make the top of the cake flat by removing the dome with a serrated knife.
3. Cut the cake in half horizontally.
4. Remove the upper layer.
5. Apply sugar syrup to the layer. This will keep the cake moist and soft.
6. Take out the truffle from the refrigerator and melt it using the Bain-marie method until it becomes semi-solid.
7. Top the cake layer with truffle frosting and spread it evenly.
8. Keep the second layer on it and repeat steps 5 and 7.
9. Frost the sides of the cake also.
10. Now, melt the remaining truffle and pour the warm truffle on the cake at the center.
11. Decorate the top and sides with chocolate shavings and chocolate garnish décor respectively.
