Catherine Beginner Gameplay

When the match begins you'll take command of a unique hero. Let's look at some things you'll want to keep an eye on.

You can view a hero's current health and energy through the healthbar above their head. For your own hero, this will generally be locked at the center of your screen as the camera follows you.

Each hero begins the match at level 1, then gains levels throughout the match. You can see your progress towards the next level through the thin white bar at the bottom of your screen.

Above this are your hero's unique abilities. With each level, you'll be able to choose which abilities to learn or upgrade by tapping the "plus" sign above them.

Normally, the first two abilities are available to learn immediately, while a powerful ultimate ability can only be learned later in the match. In most cases, the ultimate should be learned as soon as it's available.

In addition to abilities, heroes also have a unique heroic perk. This perk can behave like an extra ability, but it does not need to be learned and it doesn't show up on the ability bar.
