Carissa McBride - wounds

I have so many wounds
big ones
small ones
and all different sorts
cuts, scratches, bruises, bleeding
but the biggest wound i have
is inside.
it's the deepest
longest one i have.
you were so gracious to give it to me
you shattered every ounce of me
i thought i was going to die
but then i just pulled the knife from my heart
and put a band-aid on it
i will go on.
