Cantor Benny Rogosnitzky - Hineni
2 Views • Jul 09, 2014
Description
The words are stirring, as they are self-reflective about the cantor's unworthiness to stand before G-d and beseeching G-d not to hold it against the congregation any of the cantor's own misdeeds and failings. The piece reaches a crescendo with the prayer of the cantor to G-d to eradicate the power of the satan so that he may not interfere with his prayers.
Finally, the prayer ends with thanking G-d, who is the ultimate receiver of prayer. The music of the piece is traditional, but borrows from the melody as written by the great Cantor Yossele Rosenblatt.
