BTS #28 _ Vladimir Genin – DvsG _ Waves Without a Simulation

Fluid simulations are slow, unpredictable, and will ruin your day. So I didn't use one.

These are the breaking waves from "DvsG", built entirely procedurally in Blender. No fluid dynamics, no simulation, just a procedural setup that produces waves that look like they actually break on a beach. This video shows the finished result.

This is part of an ongoing BTS series where I document inerestin parts of the production process behind my 3D music videos, including breakdowns of older projects. Whether it's modeling, lighting, rendering, or animation, I'll be pulling back the curtain a little on how these videos were made.
