BSE closes 5.11 points down on March 17

New Delhi, Mar 17 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 5.11 points down to stand at 24,677.37. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 13.80 points up to stand at 7,512.55.Alok Industries Ltd and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd were among the top gainers of group A with an increase of 8.23% and 5.67% along with Ambuja Cements Ltd and AIA Engineering Ltd with an increase of 5.64% and5.23% respectively, while the top losers of group A includes Hathway Cable & Datacom Ltd and Den Networks Ltd with a decrease of 7.87% and 5.16% along with Lupin Ltd and Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd with a decrease of 4.23% and 3.97% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 33.11 points at 17101.26 while the Banking sector is down 10.92 points at 17592.45 and the Realty sector is down 11.07 points at 1162.30.The Indian currency was down with 0.80% with Rs. 66.68 per dollar.
