Being such a chilled out entertainer, it is no surprise that David Brent can slip so easily from blue-eyed soul to something a little bit more ska-influenced.

And as a brief as the 'Equality Street' teaser may be, there seems to be enough evidence that the former Wernham Hogg general manager's latest self-funded venture may be even mightier than his previous musical efforts.

Brent returns to TV after ten years away this Friday for Comic Relief , having reinvented himself as a music producer. He’s reported to be looking to launch the career of a young artist while secretly hoping to realise his own dream of becoming a pop star.

"He is passing on his wisdom to younger would-be rock stars now and is living vicariously through a young performer, Dom Johnson," he said.

"Well, really he is trying to worm his way back into rock and roll.
