BOOK TRAILER: Lamassu Falling

LAMASSU FALLING - A NOVELETTE OF ANCIENT ASSYRIA IN THE DAYS OF JONAH is a tale of gods, kings, prophets, pagans, heroes, and villains, set in ancient Nineveh in the mid-700s BC, when the prophet Jonah arrived and declared a word of divine judgment against Nineveh. Jonah is a major character. The story contains historical people and events as well as fictional people and events. Some fictional characters are evil, especially a cruel pagan high priest and his minions of cult followers, thugs, and assassins. Some characters are righteous, such as a brave and noble woman who opposes the pagans and befriends Jonah at great personal peril, and a trio of heroes who battle the wicked minions of the high priest. Historical characters include King Ashurdan III of Assyria and Nabukinuzur, the Governor and High Official of Nineveh. (Note: There are honest differences of opinion about who ruled Assyria and Nineveh in Jonah's day. However, careful examination of historical and archaeological records indicates Ashurdan III and Nabukinuzur ruled as king and governor, respectively, in Jonah's day.) If you read the Bible, you know how the story ends for Jonah and Nineveh. If you want to learn the fate of the other heroes and villains of the story, I encourage you to read the book.
