Bonnie Harding - The Gift

Some people listen but never hear
and look in your eyes but see no tears
they ask you questions but don't really care
and hold your hand with no comfort there

They'll give a hug, with no devotion
or a quick kiss without emotion
pat on the shoulder but they don't feel
go through the motions but there not real

Touch your heart, they wouldn't dare
too wrapped up in their own affairs
they'll never know what they have lost
all they've missed and at what cost

To comfort someone and show you care
is the greatest gift that you can share
