Birthday Put On Hold, Song

This is a song I put together for my mother's birthday. It's a funny idea I came up with for fun.

I’m canceling my birthday this year,
Because I don’t want to increase my tears,
He replies, ‘It doesn’t work that way,
You’ll get older no matter what you pay,’
‘But I’ve stopped the clocks, pulled on the brakes.’
God so annoyed he’s saying ' ho for fucks sake!’

All the clocks have stopped at noon,
And the moon’s fallen off its spoon.
The sun's hanging out, up in the heavens
And the planes stuck at half past seven.
People look up, wondering what’s going down,
Not knowing if to sigh or to frown.

She’s had a glass or three,
He’s pleading now, turn it back for me,
You can’t get drunk on this endless day,
Getting a bit older is the natural way,
She looks up and agrees it’s true,
But bugger if I’m going to change it just for you.

Clocks are still stopped at noon,

People look up, wondering what’s going down,
Not knowing if to sigh or to frown.

Finally, he bakes her a birthday cake,
Thinking this might be a mistake,
She looks and takes a slice,
‘You only did that so I’d be nice,’
‘Turn time back on, what could go wrong?’
And the clocks start ticking all along…
