BIOS CONFIGURATION

BIOS configuration refers to the process of adjusting and managing the settings of the Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) on a computer. The BIOS is a firmware that manages the hardware interface with the operating system (OS) and is responsible for identifying, configuring, testing, and connecting computer hardware to the OS immediately after a computer is turned on.
BIOS configuration can include settings such as the boot order, system settings like time and date, CPU settings, memory settings, system voltages, and power-on settings. Users can access and modify the BIOS settings through the BIOS Setup Utility, which is the BIOS itself. Accessing the BIOS Setup Utility varies depending on the computer being used, but generally involves resetting or powering off the computer, then pressing specific keys (such as Del, Tab, Esc, or any of the function keys) during startup to enter system configuration.
BIOS configuration is important for managing and maintaining the performance and security of a computer system. It allows users to adjust settings to optimize the system for specific tasks or to address issues with hardware or software compatibility. Keeping BIOS settings updated, backed up, and documented is essential for optimal performance and troubleshooting.
