Bindi Masala Recipe

Ingredients Required:-
2 tbsp oil
1 bay leaf (optional)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
250 gms lady's finger cut into 1 inch size pieces
1/2 cup tomato puree
2 medium size tomato finely chopped
1/2 inch size ginger finely chopped
2 garlic finely chopped
1/2 cup water
1 tsp kasuri methi crushed (optional)
2 tbsp fresh cream/ cashew paste optional
Salt to taste
Method:-
Step 1:-
• using a blender grind the tomatoes along with ginger and garlic into fine paste and keep aside
Step2:-
• in a heavy bottomed pan, heat 1 tbsp oil
• add lady's finger and fry till golden brown and keep aside
Step3:-
• heat 1 tbsp oil in the same pan
• add bay leaf
• add chopped onions and sauté it till its soft and translucent
• add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder, sauté it till the raw aroma disappears
• add tomato puree into it (step 1)
• sauté it till oil separates and gravy thickens
• add fried lady's finger and cook for a minute
• add crushed kasuri methi (optional)
• add1/2 - 1 cup water and bring it to boil
• add fresh cream/cashew paste keeping in a low flame and cook for a minute (optional)
• serve with chapathis or rice
