Big Tesla Coil on static gap (2006)

A very early run (2006) of my 8 inch coil. This was powered by a homemade transformer and used a blown static gap and 70nF, with a welder as the ballast.
Coil has been greatly modified since then (2015).
It now uses a pig, 200 bps SRSG, more capacitance (125nF consisting of 230 odd Cornell Dubillier caps) and a much bigger toroid and custom made ballast.
