The Bat Nha monks and nuns are now entering their 5th week of uncertain refuge at Phuoc Hue temple, Bao Loc. There they remain under strict police control and surveillance. Local authorities continue their determined efforts to disband the community. The government's campaign of slanderous propaganda reached a new low this week as the biggest national Police newspaper slandered Venerable Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh and Sister Chan Kong. Meanwhile, the state-owned press is still censored from reporting freely on events.
