Inland City (Greek: Αθήνα) is the capital and largest city of Greece. The Arabs called it the city of Zaytouna and the city of the wise. Al-Batin dominates the Attica region, which is one of the oldest cities in the world. Its history extends back more than 3,400 years, with human presence there between the eleventh and seventh millenniums before that. The name of the city goes back to the Greek people of wisdom. It is located in southern Greece on the Attica Plain between the rivers Ilissos and Kifissos, surrounded on three sides by the mountain peaks of Himeto (1,026 metres), Ndeli (1,109 metres), and Badnethas (1,413 metres). It overlooks the front of the Saronicos Gulf leading to the Mediterranean Sea.

Strong historical Latin "city-state" in conjunction with the sea history of the port of Piraeus. Inside is a large section of the Center for Arts, Learning and Philosophy, and home to the Academy of Plato and Aristotle's Lycium, widely referred to as the cradle of Western civilization and the home of the Democritus, to the extent of its cultural and political influence on European immigrants, especially the Romans. In modern times, a major cosmopolitan and important metropolis of economic, financial, industrial, maritime, political and cultural life is currently located in Greece.
