Asthma and COPD

COPD stands for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. This is chronic asthma. Chronic means it progresses slowly while obstructive means that it causes narrowing of the airways in the lungs making it more difficult to breath. Pulmonary disease means that the condition affects the lungs. Therefore , asthma COPD is a diseases that progress slowly in the airways, narrowing them. Thus no air can move in or out of the lungs.
