Why Your Inner Critic Can Be Your Worst Enemy

The Inner Critic is the nagging voice within your head who always criticizes you. In fact, you do this yourself, but in treatment or in the event you would like to modify, it is best to address that criticism as divided from yourself. That is a direct and an indirect manner how the Inner Critic can damage your self esteem. While the direct manner isn't that hard to see, the indirect manner is more insidious and pollutes your self esteem behind your back. If you would like to conquer low self esteem, pay attention to the latter one, as it might sabotage your time and effort in the future.
A. The direct manner Criticizing and depreciating you
Affirmations the Inner Critic makes about you that devalue your self-worth can damage your self esteem. There are there are only three ways how the Inner Critic damages your self esteem.
1. Twisted notions and beliefs
The Inner Critic uses false assertions to accuse you. They may be the consequence of the so called cognitive distortions or, to put it more straightforward, twisted ideas and beliefs. The Inner Critic really isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. He's frequently incorrect or generalizes. I am a loser would be such a generalization.
2. The tyranny of values
The Inner Critic uses your values and uncompromisingly needs their fulfillment. When you do not reach them, the Inner Critic judges you for that and calls you names. While there's nothing wrong with having values, they work against you, if they could tyrannize you. Perfectionism is due to misapplied values.
3. The harsh voice of the Inner Critic
The Inner Critic speaks to you personally in a harsh, judgmental voice. This voice frequently coincides with the first and the 2nd tool, but not always. Without this brusque, derogatory voice the Inner Critic is nearly toothless, but should you not cope with all of his instruments, his voice will always fall back to the judgmental manner.
