Arunachal Govt. puts renewed thrust to develop infrastructure

Arunachal Pradesh, Mar 12 (ANI): Growth and development are the foundation stones of modern economies. Good roads, adequate infrastructure precede development and helps in easy movement of goods and services. India's northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh has put renewed efforts to develop roads and infrastructure to give economic fillip to the state. Being strategically located and bordering China, government both at the centre and the state level are working on connectivity and infrastructure development. The Trans-Arunachal Highway, a mega two-lane highway project in Arunachal which extends from Tawang in the western part of the state to Kanubari in the east has given hope to many people. Covering a distance of 1,559 km, the highway is envisaged to touch eleven of the existing district headquarters. Work on the Papu-Potin section of Trans Arunachal Highway is complete and it will soon be formally inaugurated. The project has reduced the travelling time significantly. The work on the new civil secretariat and assembly building in Itanagar is in full swing. Chief Minister Kalikho Pul has set April 20 and August 14 as deadline for the completion of the Secretariat and the Assembly building respectively. Also, the Passport Seva Kendra has established its branch in Itanagar. Launching its last branch, Pardeshi, Joint Secretary Passport Seva Portal stated that Ministry of External Affairs had fulfilled its promise to set up Passport Seva Kendra in every state of Northeast.
Northeast with its huge potential both in physical and geographical terms forms the backbone of the country. The region's strategic location demands fast pace growth and development.
