Artifact's Lovin'

This song has a strange birth story.
One day a woman, that I met months ago on the net, said to me : I have you in my head. I would like to have you...

I started to write to this woman a long mail to explain that I appreciated her a lot, but she had to stay apart because I was a simple artifact found over the net.
I started writing, and the more I wrote, the more it made me feel that I was writing a poem.
I saw tercets and quatrains appearing in my simple mail.
So I wrote this mail as a poem.

I was just about hitting the send button.

I took my fender Stratocaster on my knees just to see how I could stick some notes from my guitar on this poem that was really inspiring me.
Then my music started to flow from my hands, as an evidence.
I decided to write this song over the night and to record it, as a gift to this woman, in order to make her understand.
I thought it was more gentle and kind than sending words, even as a poem.
So I did.

My chords and my melody were OK and I started to record.

But after having composed the drum part using my drum sequencer, I made an error and there was a change of rhythm that I was not able to correct (may be being a bit tired in the night).
Correcting this error and rewriting the drums sequence was a too huge and too discouraging effort for the remaining time and I did want to send my "special mail" before the early morning.

I decided to adapt all the guitar play to this and change totally the playing of this segment.
The result seduced me a lot.
This translated perfectly the full mastering of me I wanted to have in front of her but the passion there was underneath.
Finally, I hit the send button after a night spent, to send a mail with a song attached to it.
This song is Artifact's Lovin'.
