Art in Mind

Art in Mind is a documentary exploring the ability of art to heal the body, mind and soul. By giving a voice to three individuals that have been affected by physical or mental health problems, the documentary explores art therapy as effective means to accepting and coexisting with diagnosed condition. Three real life stories are a manifestation of art having the power to create, challenge, change, and inspire. Isabel McCue, one of the main characters, set up a charity called Theatre Nemo. The organisation gives a voice to social issues, especially mental health. They do this through medium of arts. Florian Baltus, the second figure of the documentary, is an artists from the Netherlands. After suffering from depression and being bipolar, he expresses his emotions and thoughts on canvas. Third story is about a four and a half year old girl named Sara who is partially deaf and sighted. Through music and help of Sense Scotland, she has found her way to communicate. All three characters tell how they found a way to communicate and materialise inner feelings and emotions through the medium of art.
