Apollo 16 Ancient Shipwreck EVA-3

This video shows the "shipwreck" that the crew of Apollo 16 imaged and surveyed during its EVA-3. The Apollo 16 video footage used in this post was first run through a Neat Video noise reduction filter, with slight increase in color saturation, tone-adjust, and slightly sharpened.

Of special note is a sequence that occurs at approximate time 00:09:35.06. At this time, you can see one of the astronauts throwing an object up on top of the front of the “shipwreck” and then bouncing off. This gives an even greater appreciation for the shear size of it. Also note that the dialog being spoken seems incongruent with what is happening in the video, suggesting that the audio was dubbed over the video.
