Andrew Jones - Melancholy

This heavy burden on my heart
is causing me to fall apart
I don't even want to start
thinking of a new romance
finding a date for a dance
is there even a chance
a chance I won't have to look
you'll come back to read that little green book
and we can learn how to cook
I've only felt peace once or twice
Is this my sacrifice?
Will I receive in return for this painful price?
Answers I keep asking for
Why is my heart sore?
Who am I next to adore?
God these answers refuses
this my mind confuses
and my hope abuses
I don't understand
this reprimand
Why is my love being banned?
To get her back I'd do anything
but all I can do is nothing
she wishes not for a rose or a ring
but space and time she desires
from these thorns and briars
on my part this requires
to let her know I care
accept this may not be fair
and simply not stare
