Almere

Almere is a new city raised from the sea. The whole province of Flevoland used to be the Zuiderzee, before the Dutch reclaimed the land in 1976 and made the country bigger. The city was constructed in the seventies and became a spacious area, with many modern and innovative architectonic highlights.
It is a planned city and municipality in the province of Flevoland, the Netherlands, bordering Amsterdam, Lelystad and Zeewolde.
