Allan Farran - Self Affliction

It's never perfect this continuation of survival
Witnessing every calamity inside every smile.
What struggles I see when face down as I crawl
To my knees I wade through this euphoria, I so defile.



Who is the perpetrator inside my mind's melancholy?
Why do I forever pay, as karma takes revenge on me?
Each day I tread the road in judgement for past folly
The striving quest of forgiveness for which I suffer to be free.



I feel like a blind man who sees everything but nothing
Unable to see the thorns that pierces my flesh.
Seeing the potholes of life, the executor of my falling
As my mind soaks up this momentum of self affliction.
