Alice Kriel - Completion

Breathing fills me
I quiver
Waiting, aching
The fine strands of you
almost touch me, almost
My skin rises
I am at you fingertips
The sea of your skin
floods all that was
I implode at the strange texture
of your tongue replacing mine
Discovering, exploring, lingering
My heart stops as you pull back
open your eyes wide and then
your lips pounce on mine
and my heart thunders
in rhythm with the pounding
Our bodies, our shadows
merge; rising and falling
to some timeless beat
promising more
until I cry out
in anguish through your lips
Release me! Release me!
With one movement
we are one
Our eyes meet
above the tumultuous ocean
The rough waves
pushing and pulling
further and further
Deeper into the darkness
Filling the void I had
tried to conceal
Pushing, pounding
Deeper
Deeper
DEEPER

I almost protest
at being thrown into space
But then
our eyes lock
I want to stay
as your prisoner
in utter ecstasy
and freedom
At last
fully being
complete.
