Heres an After Effects Tutorial which shows you how to animate a 2D butterfly using only default plugins in After Effects. The butterfly is a cut out image broken up into 3 layers, which has been animated using expressions. This means you can easily change the animation without changing a bunch of keyframing.\r

You can easily change the colour of the butterfly, or even use a bird or dragonfly. Weve provided a butterfly which we cut out in Photoshop, and the expression used has also been included in the downloadable resources.\r
