In this video, I will show you how to paint a abstract expression seascape and all the ingredients you need to create such a painting. I show you how to paint a dramatic breaking wave, white water in the foreground, rocks, spills and sea spray. I show you how you can paint light in a seascape in a way that creates a sense of tension (in a good way) and mystery. I show you how I painted a expressionism ocean wave. I get so many questions asking how I paint abstract expression water so here is an example of one of the ways I approach it. Painting water with oils is different with every single painting, but I hope this demonstration can give you an idea of how to use oil paints! This is just one way of doing it, oil painting is vast world filled with endless possibilities, so don't be afraid to experiment!
I painting the water in a dark blue but changed it later to a lighter blue and later added dark again for more contrast. This is painted with oil painting which is very forgiving. When the paint is dry you can paint over it with another color. By painting in layers let the layers dry in between you can change easily what you don't like.
