Aadi Amavasya

The Tamil month of Aadi corresponds to mid-July to mid-August in the Western calendar. One very important day during the month Aadi is the New Moon, called Amavasya in Sanskrit. What happens on Aadi Amavasya is that the spirits of our ancestors have an opening to be more willing and able to make a full crossing into higher worlds.
