Community Based Disaster Risk Management Program.

Muzaffargharh, a ‘V’ shaped district in Southern Punjab,is located between the River Chenab and the Indus River. Agriculture and livestock are a critical lifeline for the district’s massive population and are fully dependant upon these rivers and their tributaries.

Recently, the district has faced four consecutive floods, including the record breaking monsoon floods in the year 2010. In response to these periodic catastrophes, Doaba Foundation a regional NGO carried out a WeltHungerHilfe’s funded project that would advance communities to self reliance by strengthening their self-help capacities.
