A Green Iguana Rescue
21 Views • Oct 21, 2024
Description
Pip was surrendered by his owners at only a few weeks old because they could no longer care for him. The pet store he was surrendered to, did not have the means to care for him either, so they called us, and soon enough we went to pick him up, and bring him home.
The first few days were spent getting him familiar with his new enclosure, getting his diet stable, and building trust with him. Some of his food was handed, to help build that bond and earn trust.
After the first week, he was allowed to start exploring and getting familiar with our home, his new home, as well as his first time outside in the natural sun. We soon learned that he was rather skittish, getting startled by small things such as falling leaves, and thought that it would pass as he got more comfortable and content. (We were wrong, leaves still startle him. He is a teddy bear and sweetheart).
As time passed, he became more comfortable with us, outgrew his enclosure and got a new one, started free-roaming, eating more and more, growing, causing absolute chaos, and so much more.
3 Years later, he has become our beloved, big boy. He absolutely loves his attention, throws tantrums when he doesn't get it, sleeps in bed with us, gets snuggles every morning, never stops eating, can never satisfy his curiosity, but still startles at falling leaves.
We love you, our big boy!!!
