Ten days before 9/11 Elliot(Nick Nolte), An American CIA operative suddenly disappears from his post in Europe under mysterious circumstances, having discovered crucial information on the world\'s security, leaving his friend, French intelligence agent Irene(Juliette Binoche), unable to contact him. One day, out of the blue, Irene gets a call from from Elliot asking her to track down his daughter, who he hasn\'t seen since abandoning her 10 years before. Irene agrees to help with the reunion in Paris, but nothing quite goes according to plan thanks to the appearance of deranged and unscrupulous killer William Pound(John Turturro).
