6.2 Fillets and chamfers

Fillets and chamfers

In SolidWorks, fillets and chamfers are used to round or bevel edges and corners of 3D models. Here are the steps to apply fillets and chamfers in SolidWorks:

Applying Fillets:

1. Select the edge you want to fillet.
2. Go to the "Features" tab and click on the "Fillet" command.
3. In the Fillet Property Manager, set the fillet size and radius, and choose whether you want a simple fillet or a variable radius fillet.
4. Click "OK" to apply the fillet.

Applying Chamfers:

1. Select the edge you want to chamfer.
2. Go to the "Features" tab and click on the "Chamfer" command.
3. In the Chamfer PropertyManager, set the chamfer distance and angle, and choose whether you want a symmetric or asymmetric chamfer.
4. Click "OK" to apply the chamfer.

You can also apply multiple fillets and chamfers to the same edge or set of edges by selecting them all before activating the fillet or chamfer command.
