5. Bugatti Chiron (€2.4m/£2m)

A natural substitution for the Bugatti Veyron, the Chiron tops out at 1500bhp (yes!) and has a top speed of 420kph. Five hundred were made and a third of those have already been sold.
Its engine is an evolution of the W16 8-litre as sported by the Veyron, with four new turbos, a carbon fibre intake, 32 injectors, titanium exhaust and a completely redesigned cooling system.
Oh, and it'll get you up to 300kph in just 13.6s!

4. Koenigsegg One:1 (€2.55m/£2.15m)

With the One:1 the Swedish manufacturers have been able to wear the badge of honour of having the fastest sportscar in the world since 2014.
With a top speed of 450kph, this model surprises with its weight-to-power ratio and horse power per kilo. Koenigsegg have produced seven cars and all have been sold.
With a V8, 5L twin turbo engine it weighs a super-light 197kg, thanks to its carbon-fibre bodywork and aluminium construction.

3. W Motors Lykan Hypersport (€3.1m/£2.6m)

W Motors, founded in Lebanon, presented the Lykan Hypersport in 2013, and there are only seven of them in existence. It's stunning exterior design boasts LED lights integrated with encrusted diamonds (which can be substituted for rubies, sapphires or emeralds, if that's more your thing).
The engine chunts out 750bhp, which translates into a top speed of 395kph. Yep, you read that right.

2. Lamborghini Veneno (€4.1m/£3.43m)

As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, Lamborghini presented the Veneno at the Geneva Motor Show, a model of which the Sant'Agata Bolognese factory produced only 12 editions.
It can reach 100kph in just 2.9s, thanks in part to its extraordinary aerodynamic design.

1. Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita (€4.45m/£3.72m)

Coming from Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg, the CCXR Trevita is the world's most expensive car, full stop.
It has a body finished in diamond carbon fibre, a process that's understandably complex. A V8, 4,712cc engine with twin turbo compressors pumps out 806bhp of power, and at the moment only three have been produced.
