498 A

This short film is on the misuse of IPC. 498 A, also known as anti dowry law. In India dowry system is very much high in percentage and deaths, ill treatment of women due to dowry is increasing and it is not good for society. Section 498 A was introduced in 1993 to crub dowry system and protect rights of married women. But every law has both advantages and misuse.
This short film of Shalini and Tarun tells us how some women and their families are accusing their husbands and their families by making a tool of well meaning "dowry law' (IPC 498 A) falsely against them.This story tells how Shalini and her mother used this law as a weapon against Tarun. They implicated him in a false case of 498 A and which leads him to social and mental harassment and ended up on suicide. The judicial system and police department should not adopt prefix measures to put boy and his family in jail but proper investigation should be conducted so that to differentiate true and false cases.
In short , government should take necessary steps against false cases of IPC 498 A or any other law that ruins the life of innocent people in our country.
