The rhythm of my beating heart
A Robin bird sits still
He chirps a slow and lonely tune
Upon my windowsill

Under the tree beside my home
A small girl gently swings
She stops to hear the lonely tune
The little Robin sings

A passing couple yell and scream
As lovers do with ease
They pause upon the lonely tune
Amid the bitter breeze

The lonely tune the Robin sang
Brought tears to many eyes
Silence followed that lonely tune
And drifted through the skies
