We make our way back to class
for once I'm included in the conversations
I felt like I belonged
I knew the truth.
this sense of confidence was replaced instantaneously
Accusations of impurities and my longing resonate in my mind.
I resist the attack half-heartedly
Honestly, why should I bother defending myself?
I know it's true...
but I'm ashamed of what's inside...
so I counteract the insult to humor him...
and pull up my skin tight jeans
fix my long, bright pink hair
and resume my schoolwork

The truth is only mine...
