WORDS….
They are like the wind
playing
touching
they tear at my skin and
penetrate through
my layers
of thought, of being
they hold me captive for
a while….
only to set me free in a
whirlwind of leaves
falling
falling

WORDS….
sometimes they fail me
their fickleness
scratching
at my conscience
toying with my soul…
and not the wind
or any of the elements
can compare
or rise in retribution
as I’m reaching
for words
falling
falling
