Around 1800 flats in Hackney Wick have been left without drinking water following a hydrocarbon contamination. Normally used in industrial applications they can be harmful to health. Wick Lane developer Taylor Wimpey apologised and said they were working to resolve the issue.

The Civil Aviation Authority has told Heathrow Airport to cut passenger charges, which could lead to lower ticket prices. They say airports are recovering quicker after the pandemic. The average charge per passenger at Heathrow for 2023 is £31.57 this will fall to £25.43 in 2024.
