Your Camera Is Your Next Keyboard
Description
“Your camera is your next keyboard,” Prabhakar Raghavan, a senior vice president at Google ($GOOGL@US), wrote in a blog post. Raghavan was hinting at Google’s plans to make the search engine more immersive using camera phone technology. At the Search On event in San Jose, CA on Wednesday, Google executives explained how the next chapter in the popular search engine will be more immersive. Users will be able to point their camera phone to, say a pair of shoes or an armchair, take a picture, and conduct a search. They will then see what Google calls “visual forward” search results — organized tiles of photographs presented much like Stories on Snapchat ($SNAP@US) or Instagram ($META@US).
