(ROUGH CUT -- NO REPORTER NARRATION)

Indian forest wardens rescued a three-year old leopard which had fallen into an open well in Gujarat state.

An eight-member team of wardens reached the site after a local farmer spotted the animal in the village of Aambaliya.

Eventually the leopard was tranquillised and hauled out of the well on a charpoy - a small wooden-framed bed.

Locals complained of similar incidents in the past.

Instances of wild animals like leopards and tigers straying into residential areas are not a new thing.

India's big cats are under threat with many poached for their fur and for their body parts.

The leopards' natural habitats are also under threat, forcing the animals to move into human settlements as they try to find food.
