Suspected Al-Qaeda-linked militants in Niger kidnapped and apparently executed French nationals -- an aid worker due to be married, and his best man -- during an attempted rescue mission. The husband-to-be and his childhood friend were seized by gunmen at a restaurant in Niamey on Friday and found dead after the military's failed rescue operation in the desert on Saturday.
