Yingluck Shinawatra's been forced to step down as prime minister by Thailand's Constitutional Court.

The court ordered her to quit after finding her guilty of violating the constitution.

Despite the ruling Yingluck insisted afterwards she was innocent of any wrongdoing.

(SOUNDBITE) (Thai) THAI PM YINGLUCK SHINAWATRA SAYING:

"I insisted that we have used honesty to administer the country and we have never done anything that conveys any dishonest actions as accused."

Thailand's commerce minister's been named as Yingluck's successor for the time being.

The country's had a caretaker government since December.

A new election is planned for July.
