Year 2012 ends on a sad note - NewsX

Today is the last day of the year 2012. As the year draws to a close and we look back upon it, 2012 was indeed a rough ride year for the country. India had to negotiate the choppy waters of domestic politics, face a situation of mass exodus from North East and face one of the worst power cut situations in its history. And in the last month, the gangrape case on a Delhi bus shook the nation out of a reverie. But the people's anger and strong demand for stricter laws for rape cases seem to have fallen on the govt's deaf ears. BJP's demand for convening special session of Parliament immediately to discuss the issue arising out of Delhi gangrape case too has been met with a silence by the UPA 2 govt.
